Endless US wars and occupations are driven by the political and economic power of US corporations. Hundreds of US military bases around the world provide those corporations “security” to access foreign markets, cheap labor and raw materials. Resisting one war, occupation, weapon system or sweatshop article of clothing at a time will never result in peace, justice and a livable world.
We must fight individual corporate evils AND end corporate rule in all its forms.

Sandy Bolzenius
Dr. Sandra Bolzenius is an Army veteran and a former teacher who lived and taught in Europe, Africa, and Asia for nearly twenty years. At Ohio State University, she earned a doctorate in History. Specializing in Gender and African American studies, she is the author of Glory in Their Spirit: How Four Black Women Took on the Army during World War II (University of Illinois Press, 2018). Dr. Bolzenius/Sandra’s (as you prefer) is also a local community rights activist. Her interest in public policies through the intersections of gender, race, and class has convinced Dr. Bolzenius/Sandra that a just, fully inclusive, and sustainable world for all is not only possible, but within our grasp. She is a member of Move to Amend, the Columbus Community Bill of Rights, and Veterans for Peace.

Daniel Lee
Former Culver City Mayor Daniel Lee became the first African-American Member of the Culver City Council in its over 100-year history in 2018 where he passed rent control, voted to close down the inglewood oil field, began a reprations process, created a mobile crisis response team and worked to create permanent supportive housing. A veteran of the US Air Force and California Air National Guard, he currently works as Project Director at the James Lawson Institute. Daniel has a Master’s Degree in Social Welfare from UCLA and a Doctorate in Social Work from USC. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Move to Amend, the Backbone Campaign, Mockingbird Incubator, Elected Officials Protecting America and the advisory board for the ProRep Coalition working for proportional representation in California.
Mike Ferner
With a head full of John Wayne movies, Mike enlisted in the Navy in 1969 while still in high school. Working as a hospital corpsman at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital for two years exorcised the movies and set him on a course for discharge as a conscientious objector. A lifelong activist in labor, environment and peace issues, Mike served two terms on Toledo City Council, championing the movement for a public electric system, sponsoring the largest energy efficiency program for city buildings in Ohio, and reforming the tax abatement policy to get more money back to Toledo Schools. Until May 1, he will be the National Director of Veterans For Peace, doing what he can to expose the “Madmen Arsonists.” He and his wife, Sue, an ACLU activist, have lived on the western shore of Lake Erie for 43 years.
